Dear Colleagues,

Welcome back to a new and exciting show choir season.  Here at DC-G we are always working to find those great show choir experiences that leave our students  feeling appreciated and important amongst our larger friends here in the Des Moines area.  Even though we recognize the benefits of observing our larger schools in action, we love the opportunity to compete with schools of our own size.  With this in mind, we cordially invite you and your students to join us in our 2nd annual "Take 2" Show Choir Invitational to be held at DC-G High School on January 24th, 2009.  The competition is open to middle school and high school choirs in the IHSMA 1A-3A classification in a day long competition.  

Performances in a state-of-the-art, 650 seat auditorium with quality sound and lighting.

Clinics by educators that are currently working with middle school and high school show choirs.

Recognition and awards for ALL choirs.

Awards for outstanding soloists and sections.

Final showcase featuring the top 2 schools from 1A/2A, MS, and 3A as well as 1 from the Prep category.

We would also encourage you to attend the Johnston Showzam! Show Choir Invitational being held the same weekend at Johnston High School.  This event is open to all classifications with the 1A-3A level schools competing on Friday the 23rd.  It is a mere 6 miles from the front door of Johnston High to the front door of DC-G High.  There are many hotels in the area that would love the opportunity to accommodate your groups.
